Accessibility Strategy - IDA

View Images

IDA Ireland (Industrial Development Agency) is an Irish Government agency with responsibility for securing new investment from overseas in manufacturing and internationally traded services sectors.

Frontend were commissioned to help the IDA assess their current accessibility compliance status, develop accessible web design skills in house and create a range of accessible document templates. Issues encountered during the initial assessment were developed into a series of focused accessibility training sessions.

Frontend developed a range of accessible document templates for the IDA designed to make the task of publishing accessible versions of print documents on the web in PDF and Word straightforward. Frontend web designers took the PDF print document and created a faithful and attractive online version. Frontend delivered template code combining the latest XHTML and CSS techniques and employing industry best practice for accessible web pages. The resulting document is a rare example of how universal design need not be dull.

We continue to work with the IDA in ensuring published information is fully accessible.
