UI Design - Reuters Kalends

Kalends was one of the first business to business and consumer ventures to be launched by Reuterspace, the Reuters division charged with building new businesses outside of its traditional financial markets. Utilising the massive resources within Reuters global bureaux, Kalends is a future events service covering everything from finance, sport, to general news, which users access over the Internet, through mobile phones and other digital devices. The service ensures users never miss events that are of interest or importance to them from anywhere in the world.

Frontend applied a full User Centred Design approach for the implementation of this project. This included considerable user and task analysis at the outset, user focused design solutions and validation of design concepts through target user testing across the UK. Frontend also provided the development team with client side templates for quick and accurate implementation of final designs. The solution provides a simple information architecture with several different ways of accessing information, comprehensive personalisation and excellent ease of use. Throughout the site, users can perform one-click functions on an event such as – add to personal calendar, export to offline calendar, email to a friend, or send an SMS reminder.
